How we recruit - BVGroup

We know hiring processes can seem overwhelming. One of our core values is to be respectful and we see our hiring process as a great opportunity to demonstrate that to you. Our commitment to you is that we will keep things simple, we will be fast, and we will be transparent.

We have two hiring processes: one for technical roles and one for other positions. Our process is designed to help you demonstrate your skills and get to know us. The process may change slightly from role to role, but the core stages and timelines are broadly the same.

Tech Roles

  1. Short online task

Depending on the role or candidate, you may be asked to do a short online assessment – this typically takes 45 minutes.

  1. Initial conversation with our technical team

You will have a video conversation or in-person meeting with the hiring manager or one of your future colleagues – this should take around 1 hour.

  1. Solving a technical challenge

The challenge will vary by team and role, but each is designed to give you an opportunity to demonstrate how you think and build. You can complete the challenge in your own time. This typically takes candidates anywhere between 4 and 8 hours to complete.

  1. An in-depth conversation about your solution

This is typically the favourite part for both candidates and us. We’ll discuss the decisions you made on the technical challenge and seek to understand how and why you did what you did. This gives you a great taste of what it is like working with us. This should take around 2 hours.

  1. If successful, you’ll receive an offer.

Non-tech Roles

  1. Initial call

Before diving into in-depth interviews, you’ll have a quick call with a recruiter or a member of our talent acquisition team who will be able to explain the role, answer any questions and understand a bit more about you. This typically takes 20 minutes.

  1. First interview

You’ll have a short video conversation or in-person meeting with the hiring manager, which will last around 1 hour.

  1. Project/case study, if required

We sometimes ask candidates to complete a small project, which is designed to give you an opportunity to demonstrate how you think. You can complete this in your own time. This will take around 1 – 2 hours to complete.

  1. Final interview

We will go into detail to understand how you think and get a taste of what it would be like working together. If you’ve prepared a project, we’ll look to understand how you approached it, consider potential alternatives and discuss how your views would change when presented with new information. This will take around 2 hours.

  1. If successful, you’ll receive an offer.
